5th Annual Butterfly Festival - April 29th, 2006, noon-5:00pm.

On April 29th, Tree Hill Nature Center presents its 5th Annual Butterfly Festival hosted by Jimmy Smith of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The event is from noon to five culminating with nature's fireworks...a live native butterfly release.

April is "Florida Butterfly & Butterfly Gardening Month."   More than 4,000 butterfly enthusiasts will attend this year's event from the surrounding area.   All proceeds from the festival help Tree Hill promote the three-fold mission of environmental Education, Conservation and Awareness.

Activities will include butterfly encounters, live music, delicious food, guest lecturers, and fun activities for the kids. Guests will be able to roam the nature trails, shop at the booths and learn about the different environmental agencies around the town.

As Tree Hill's signature event, the Butterfly Festival has experienced tremendous growth each year. In fact, festival attendance more than tripled over the last four years.   Soon, this event will become Jacksonville's premier nature festival.
