COMCAST FAMILY SATURDAYS AT TREE HILL NATURE CENTER

Fight Nature Deficit Disorder (NDD)...attend Comcast Family Saturdays at Tree Hill Nature Center. On Saturday's, parents and their children are invited to attend this new discovery program on Saturdays at 10:00am.

Research indicates that Americans spend 90% of the day indoor and only 15% with the family. To address these two critical issues, Comcast is sponsoring FREE outdoor adventures at Tree Hill's natural oasis in the heart of the city.

Beginning the first week in October 2007, families will answer the question, "What's In Your Backyard?" Participants will discover how to transform their yards into havens for wildlife through guided tours, nature awareness programs, critter encounters, eco-projects and take-home activities. Every month has a different theme from butterflies to birds.

Comcast Families Saturdays is not just for kids, but for "kids" of all ages. Get Mom out of her kitchen, Dad from his workshop, Sonny away from his video games and tell Grandma to turn off the TV soaps!. Cure the NDD blues in the lovely urban wilderness of Tree Hill.

Each Saturday, parents and children will learn about a topic relating to nature and the environment in the "outdoor classroom" of Tree Hill Nature Center. Comcast Family Saturdays has these important goals:

  • To spend time with family in a natural setting
  • To increase knowledge of Florida's native flora and fauna
  • To become more aware of ways to help our environment
