Volunteers recently helped beautify the grounds of Tree Hill by planting two new garden areas. The space around a stand of trees in the middle of the parking lot was filled with plants offering nectar and larval food for butterflies.  A section for herbs that caterpillars eat will be added within the next few weeks. Then, a large area between two oaks was planted with a variety of blooming shrubs and ferns.

Tree Hill would like to thank the following groups for helping out:

- Heather Garden Circle donated volunteer hours and money.
- Boy Scout Troop #5, which is sponsored by Christ the King Catholic Church, donated volunteer hours. Scout Master Fred Gardener donated 3 platters of Subway sandwiches from his store on 9115 Merrill Road.
- Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity donated volunteer hours and money.
- Trad's Garden Center provided a significant discount on the plants.

Tree Hill Nature Center promotes environmental awareness to the community through educational programs and access to natural areas.

Volunteers are an essential element to the success of Tree Hill Nature Center. They come in all sizes and shapes, and in all ages.

Some of our volunteers come on a regular basis and others are occasional helpers. Some have particular duties they like to do, while others perform whatever chore may be necessary at the time. Some tasks are administrative, some are educational, and some are just plain manual labor.
